I can't escape this hell
So many times I've tried
But I'm still caged inside (The soul is caged inside the body or the animal).
Somebody get me through this nightmare (The soul is asleep in the body and it's living in a nightmare).
I can't control myself

So what if you can see
The darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become!
Help me believe it's not the real me (The body isn't the real him).
Somebody help me tame this animal (He can't control his body, which is an animal).

In my time of dying (The soul will not die and when someone is in touch with it they are alive. The time of dying is the ignorance of the soul when someone is in the physical body and is ignorant of themselves.)

Losing everything (He's losing everything because he's lost himself.)
I can see my life passing me by
Was it all too much
Or just not enough

Since you've gone away (The shell is the body and he isn't in touch with himself. The Metallica song called Fade to Black has a similar lyric, "I was me but now he's gone".)

Paralyzed (The soul is paralyzed and most people never think about it, they never turn around and look at themselves.)

Tonight I break away (Fire in the occult means spirit because it dissolves matter and it rises up. Starting the fire means starting the spirit and it will break away from the world.)

At night I feel like a vampire
It's not right but I just can't give it up
I'll try to get myself higher
Lets go were going to light it up (The night is the darkness of spiritual ignorance and lighting it up means lighting the soul up, which will take him higher.)
